Your solution worked I did not have to perform any rituals such as switching to root and whatnot. One solution is to store the data in the public Documents folder (SDcard etc) and then everything can see it

What emulator, what's the base location of the file (in code), and release or debug build? For example I use Genymotion, and if I do a debug build I can do something like Īdb pull /data/user/0/com.myapname/files/.local/share/mydatabse.db ~/Downloads/Īnd that pulls a copy over to the Downloads folder on my Mac and I can look at it, I can't to this in a release build though (sandboxing), which is possibly the problem you have, unless rooted apps can't see into other apps data folders. Would really appreciate input here as its all but impossoible to develop seriously without access to the database on an android device. The older versions have data in their data folders but not no. The latest versions (pixel / oreo) dont even allow you to browse the data folder (expanding it in file explorer comes up empty).
I have tried this method on the following emulators. However unlike all the postings, my data folder is either empty or simply does not have the. I can then browse the files, including the database of my app. All the postings out there indicate that while my app is running on the emulator, in visual studio I need to open Android Device Mointor, and under file explorer do a pull from the data\data folder onto my local system (windows 10). I am currently trying to find a way to browse the SQL Lite database that my app creates on an android emulator.
